WSJS Changes Next Week?

I caught a promo for a local talk show starting "next Monday at 4PM" on WSJS this afternoon around 5:30 PM. Don't know if it was an error or not.

The best move WSJS could make is to put x-talker back in the afternoon slot live. If Curtis did start state wide talk radio Mike would be great since he has spent time in radio down east, in Raleigh, and in the Triad and knows the state well.

I wonder if that means "Sean Hannity" will finally make the move to 94.5, as has been planned since the beginning of this year?, In addition, with the "Triad Sports Network" in place, could some of the racing shows airing here move to 1200,1230 and 1320?

WSJS will start a new talk show on Monday, July 26th, called "The Afternoon Show with Bob Campbell" it will air at 4:00 PM weekdays, i heard the promo listening to WSJS online Tuesday afternoon.

Hey! Isn't Bob Campbell the former Morning Personality on WTHZ "Hitz 94" and Majik 94.1, before Max McGann did it? I think it is. Bet he's glad to get a job!

Good news for Bob Campbell and WSJS. Think Bob has been doing board word at WSJS for a few months and I'm sure he is happy to have found work. Not sure I can say that much about the rest of the WTHZ Staff that the Hilton's put on the street.

Let's hope his transition from music to talk goes better than it did for Bill Flynn on "Rush Radio"...

Thanks, n_guy.

No doubt a live and local afternoon show is the way to go! Content is going to be very important. If it is silly lifestyle stuff, and paid guests, it will be only a minor success.

This is a great time for local and regional issues (not just political) talk. Lots of things going on in our world that people want to talk about. I know, I run into them every day in the hall here at Five Points!

I agree with X-Talker that the show needs to be "lifestyle". Something more like Allen Handleman. I think people are getting really sick of politics and it would be great to have something different to listen to. There's no reason a creative host can't find plenty of topics to interest listeners. Talk listeners are intelligent and curious and it would differentiate the station from "Rush Radio".

I heard the promo today as well.

Pretty cool, don't know Bob but it is FANTASTIC to see something different than Republicans good, democrats bad :D

I like how WSJS isn't trying to just battle Rush Radio with 2nd tier no name conservative shows either.

I wonder if their canning the news hour? I heard on the promo it will be on at 4pm? Will it be a 4-7 deal? 4-6? then news?

How do we know for sure that his show will be (or won't be) going in that direction? Sure, such a show would be a "breath of fresh air" in talk radio, but political talk is very popular right now. I would think Bob would ride that horse for at least part of his show, or maybe a politics/entertainment/news hybrid show liek Dennis Miller does.

I'm not saying it won't be I was just going by the tone of the promo. Doesn't sound like it's gonna be all politics. You could be right, the promo was centered around taking lots of phone calls, and it ended something to the effect of "This show is your voice....".
