Wsjs

Radio Locator indicates the WSJS translator is on-air. If this is true, I've not heard about it on WSJS (I listen for a bit almost every morning & afternoon). I also don't see it on wsjs.com The coverage map of the translator on RL looks like the signal is directional.

Meanwhile, WTOB continues to sound garbled (at best) and the programming - well, let's just say that hasn't improved.

And while I'm crossing the AM band in Winston: I never liked Dennis Miller on WSJS but I'm developing an appreciation for him on WEGO. He sounds "real" and like he's having fun. He's not the standard right winger with the standard talking points heard on so many other talkers.

I've listened to 101.3 for a couple of days and have not heard WSJS. My apartment is very near the transmitter site listed on Radio Locator. They probably have a license to cover but haven't made it to the air yet. It occurs to me that the signal very likely indeed will be directional because otherwise it might interfere with WZTK. Curtis owns that facility too so I suppose he could allow interference, correct?

OK. I'll just keep posting. LOL. It occurred to me that if Curtis is willing to open the checkbook this could be a good time to move the 101.1 stick closer to the Triangle to put WPTF on FM (or closer to the Triad to put WSJS on FM). It would mean a power downgrade but the costs not covered by insurance would be recovered fairly quickly in advertising if the station put a city grade over the entire area (not to mention the increased value of the station to potential buyers). {101.1 is currently at low power due to tower damage ... the station is not listenable in Winston.}

Is that right, a right-wing talk radio station with the callsign W-EGO?
