WSKW 1974 Sign off Aircheck - frequency question

I have about a three minute mp3 of WSKQ Skowhegan Maine aircheck that leads to a sign off, back in 1974. Weren't they on 1150kHz in 1974?

The Jock is Rob Foster, sitting in for Bobby McGee, and mentions The WSKW Survey with host Dan Lowrey. Sign Off cart mentions: Owned and Operated by KEnnebeck Valley Broadcasting System. Studio and Transmitter at "The Middle Road Route 104 in Skowhegan". And it goes on to suggest you tune in FM 105, WTOS-FM.

I can provide an MP3 via email. Requests to: [email protected]

WSKW moved up the dial in the mid 80's with an upgrade to 10kw, sometimes it simulcasted WTOS and sometimes it was on its own, I guess it just depended on who was the GM/Owner was. AFAIK studios are still located there, but 'TOS moved to Augusta in the mid 90's when it was spun off to Cumulus

Great aircheck from WSKW. The "Bob" Foster on it is my brother. Brings back lots of memories from that era. Bob is now retired and living in Nashua, NH.

WTOS was a daytimer on 1150 back in those days. With regards to WTOS, they evolved into being Maine's second AOR station by 1977. (WBLM-107.5 being the other) WTOS changed formats into kind of an automated Top 40 station around 1979, but went back to live AOR in 1981, and have remained a rock station ever since that time.
