WSLM AM 1220 now broadcasting in stereo

Those of you with an AM stereo have a new station to listen to in southern Indiana. I picked it up on the east side of Louisville on Saturday.

Now if they could just figure out how to get the Ticks in the left channel and the Tocks in the right channel, we'd have something!

Bob On The Job ladies and gentleman! Great form Bob!

I've heard the original copy of this masterpiece was on a 78 RPM record (heaven knows it sounds like one). Station came on in the early-mid 50's. Chances are it's been a staple of WSLM programming since day 1. I'd so rather hear this than yet another satellite fed vanilla station.

AMEN!

O.M.G. – I have a story... I used to own 1220 KGIR Cape Girardeau, Missouri – 250-w [day] – 140w-night. WSLM had this odd preoccupation to raise to 5000-watts at 6AM [NOT, the prescribed 500-watts per PSA rules]. One morning as a storm was passing thru our city at 6AM [an hour behind Indiana], our Harris rig "burped" upon a lightning flash at 6AM. Our live morning DJ on our Oldies format was listening off the Belar mod monitor, and heard "Tick-Tock...It's Seven O'Clock" [from WSLM] as he was about to cross the 6AM hour in Cape. He was disorientated upon hearing this from the air monitor, and exclaimed as the KGIR transmitter returned to the air: "What the F**K is this!?!" – just as our Harris re-cycled. LOL!
We forgave him ;) :D

Bob...You have outdone yourself with those pictures! I looked at every one of them. I've seen some dives, but never...ever....anything like this! I am surprised they actually put out a pretty good signal. It's not strong, but I can hear it here in Lexington, KY fairly well during the day and mixing with WGAR (or whatever its call is now) from Cleveland at night....

I went to the Ray Stevens show at Renfro Valley Saturday night, stayed overnight in Richmond, and picked up their stereo signal all the way into Louisville on Sunday morning.

I've been there a few times...once a few chickens left the studio when I entered. It's an amazing place for lack of a better term. I hear them great here in the day but have never heard a peep out them at night. That 82 watts is aimed your way more than mine. I do hear the 770 near you pretty well during the day.

I've heard of "free range" chickens but never "free radio" chickens!
