I don’t know how many were listening to WSM-AM on Tuesday night during the storms, but I must say Eddie Stubbs did an excellent job relaying the information to the public during the time the storms were moving through Middle Tennessee. It was as he didn’t break his normal routine format of Classic County Music and artist info, but blended the music content in well with the emergency information that need to go on.
I recall when I was a kid, our house had a basement, and when the storms got bad, my dad huddle us kids and mom to the basement. Dad had an old GE Clock radio in the basement with just AM on it. He kept it tuned to WSM-AM, and as we listen through the static caused by the lightning, the top voices like Ralph Emery, Pat Sajak, Dan Miller, Coyote McCloud, etc. broke in and kept the public informed of the severe weather moving in.
Tuesday Night listening to Eddie Stubbs brought back memories of WSM-AM when I was a kid and the service they provided to us during a scary time. Mr. Stubbs if you’re reading this, Thank You for your presentation Tuesday Night! Wonderful Job! You upheld what WSM stands for, WE SERVE MILLIONS!
