WSM and the Grand Ole Opry

I was listening to the Tuesday night Opry on Sirius, and suddently at about 9:20, halfway through one of the segments, and in the middle of a song, they cut to a series of commercials that were not even part of the sponsorship of that portion. The commercials lasted for almost 4 minutes. They then went back to the Tuesday night Opry, still in the middle of the segment, amd acted as if nothing happened. As a regular Opry listener, this was a first. Does anyone know if these were force-fed Sirius commercials, or just a glitch in the system that nobody at WSM noticed?
Edited by fayfare on 03/30/06 03:17 PM.

... on BBC World Service News a while back ... (thankfully an exception)

I seem to recall that a couple of years ago, I heard an actual commercial on BBC World Service News! I fondly remember the BBC from my time as a shortwave radio listener back in the '90s and, back then, the BBC NEVER played commercials (save for the occasional station promo).

Thankfully, that seems to have been an exception as I have heard no further commercials on Sirius's BBC stream.

Thats more than likely because BBC lit into sirius about it. Trust me, the BBC listens whenever one of their stations (Radio 1, World Service, ect..) gets interrupted. Quite a few people I know went and complained concerning a time shifting issue during Chris Moyles program a few months ago(during their NY trip), and ya havent heard any issues since.

Re: ... on BBC World Service News a while back ... (thankfully an exception)

BBC America puts commercials into BBC News. Commercials seem to be encroaching on satellite. Won't be surprised if commercials show up on Sirius' BBC Channel, which is not the actual BBC World Service.
