COULD WSMJ GOING THE ROUTE OF WJJZ IN PHILLY WHICH RECENTLY DROPPED THE SMOOTH JAZZ FORMAT IN FAVOR OF RHYTHMIC AC AND MORNINGS WITH WHOOPI GOLDBERG?
 
This has been the biggest Baltimore rumor for the last 15 years. Not since XVY flipped have I heard the old "They're bringing B-104" back rumor. We'll see.

I have noticed a few songs that really don't fit the Jazz format. It is possible that they are moving more Urban AC or AC. How is WWIN-FM billing?

I would say a very ignorant statement on Gnarls Barkley - which happens to be getting spins on 6 Smooth Jazz stations - including WJZW, KIFM, WJZZ, KRVR, WYJZ, and WSMJ.

They are playing it because they feel it fits the format...

Not to dispute that Smooth Jazz could be going away, but playing Gnarls Barkley means nothing and that was an ignorant comment.

A hot ac top 10 added song isn't usually an AM drive spin on a SJ....they are "suddenly" all over the place.....

AMEN.....Since the "Rebirth of CHR"'s heyday in the mid-90s, radio faithfuls in Baltimore have been earnestly attempting to breathe life back into B-104. I've been hearing the nonsense since the days of the COLT. Again, the mid-90s, since we still had such a thing as an "All 70s Format".
