Anybody know why they were off the air overnight and this morning?

I was listening to 89.1 WSMR late last night and then this morning from around 7:40 - 8AM, so I guess they must have been off the air between 11pm and 7:40.

Now, if you're referring to the translator on 103.9; I can't vouch for that one way or another, since it's a no show here, even on a car radio, except sometimes if I turn the volume up all the way, I can sometimes hear a very weak signal from 103.9 fade in and out.
(and that's only during the day; at night the 103.9 from the Fort Myers area usually kicks in)

I have been listening to the WSMR online audio stream fairly regulary, so if it was off the air for any amount of time, it apparently had little, if any, affect on the online presence.

JM,
I really hate how CSF in Miami has added NPR news when WLRN does not air it and has dumped Writter's Almanac, a fun program to begin the day.

May have had something to do with the mast. 103.9 is next to the water tower. 89.1 has a lot of stuff on that mast.
If there is a radiation hazard to humans, they will shut it all down. The main reason why stations have backups off location is so life can still go on when the main goes down or taken down.

It pays for itself in the long run because with a commercial station - fewer "make goods".
