WSNA goes "Bye Bye Bye," Rhythmic AC as a whole going with it?

On Friday, October 17, Memphis area Rhythmic AC WSNA “Snap! 94.1” (Germantown/Memphis) flipped format to Classic Hits as “94.1 KQK.” The last song on “Snap!” was “Bye Bye Bye.”

This is the Third Rhythmic AC to disappear in 2008. Is the Rhythmic AC format about to be history? Discuss.

I think the format as a whole has some problems, whether it's a "Movin" licensed station or a stand alone Rythmic a/c. Some stations are doing ok as I understand it? The presentation is the most important part, I think some of it is the playlists are not large enough, as well as some broadcast chains are just not putting anything behind the format on their respective stations.

Memphis was a bad market for a rhythmic AC because so much of the music is already heard on several other radio stations. It seems like rhythmic AC does best in markets that aren't as R & B oriented as Memphis.
