WSNR 620 AM Sounding Clearer

This station has always sounded rather distorted in most places where I have tried listening to it, probably due to very strong nulls in most directions.
When I checked it out a few minutes ago, it came in clearer than I have ever heard it. It actually sounded like a normal signal.
Does anyone know whether they made any changes among all those towers they use?

It is possible they were running non-directional for some reason, most likely at reduced power due to directional antenna problems or maintenance, just a thought ?

I checked the FCC filings, and Al's guess above is apparently a good one.
WSNR's owner applied for and received approval of an STA to operate the station "At variance from its existing licensed parameters."
The application states that the towers are on landfill owned by the NJ Meadowlands Commission, and "remediation" needs to be done there. As part of this, a road has been built right by the towers, and fences, new power lines and heavy equipment are on or adjacent to the site. Apparently all this and the presence of workers can make it necessary to lower power and make changes to the signal patterns.
Their normal signal is in such tight day and night patterns that perhaps almost any change will result in the station sounding less distorted in many places.
The good news for the owner is that the towers will not need to be moved to another location, as was originally anticipated.
