WSOU Launches HD signal.

Congrats to WSOU on the launch of their HD signal. Great job by CE Frank Scafidi and Jim Malespina. "Hazard zet forward." WSOU is the radio station of Seton Hall University with roots back to 1948.

Interesting. What percentage of the population actually has HD radios? Will more than five or 10 people actually listen to WSOU-HD? Does it just broadcast the same material as the regular FM station, but with better fidelity? Do hard rock listeners demand higher fidelity anyway?

WFMU has said it doesn't plan to waste money setting up HD because there's absolutely no sign that HD is catching on.

Hard Rock Listeners DO like high fidelity when it comes to music they love. And yes... there are some "quiet" moments in hard rack, and we want those parts excellent too.

While WSOU may not be playing songs that fit an eclectic taste, they ARE serving the public by playing the Hard Rocking songs by name bands that just don't get aired on Commerical Corporate Rock Radio....

What I really demand ---- as a radio listener.... is something OTHER THAN the banal Calssic Rock and Corporate Rock Commerical Hits and Playlists.

I'm content with most name bands, but it's the song selection that commercial radio misses the mark on, on a very regular basis. A good station is that, for what the DO Not play, as much as what they do play.

THAT -- I DEMAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
