Anybody have any information on WSOV 101.7 "The Sound of the Valley" in Millheim? This is a Low Power FM operated by Penns Valley Conservation Association. PVCA is an interesting organization that seems centered on the enjoyment of nature, instilling a love of nature and preserving it. They hold festivities and concerts annually and seem to be greatly involved in the community. The radio station is to reflect the community and the local 'culture' of the area.
I'm just curious if anyone has listened or knows of the station. They do have a website and they do stream. The stream seems to have a good number of local business underwriting.
Anybody know how they're doing? I got a couple of emails back when they got their construction permit but these days they don't respond. I always felt the good work of the parent organization and it's obvious success in the area meant WSOV was primed to be a perfect model of a truly local LPFM run by a group that actually has the financial part figured out.
