I see All Access is reporting WSOY-AM/FM & it's cluster (WDZ, WDZQ, & WCZQ) sold to Joyner Radio.

Any word on the street about the purchase price?

I was born in Decatur in 1954. The only radio stations I remember are WSOY AM & FM, WDZ & WDZQ and the Millikin University station. I've never heard of WCZQ. Are there yet other stations licensed to Decatur? The population and economy have gone substantially downhill since the '80s; I wouldn't think stations here would be worth much now.

How long has it been since Next Media sold their Decatur cluster? Didn't they own both WDZ and WSOY. It does not seem like
that sale took place that long ago, but I might be wrong. You know what they say time flies when your having fun.

WCZQ is in the Champaign-Urbana market, but its transmitter (and city-of-license) is in Monticello, about halfway between Champaign and Decatur, so it puts a decent signal into Decatur.

People in Decatur are proud of their city, but it doesn't seem to have the attraction that neighbors Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington, and Springfield have -- unless you work for ADM.

Archway purchased the stations from NextMedia last year. I have seen a purchase price of $4.4 Million for the current deal between Archway and Joyner. Archway bought the cluster from NextMedia for $8.5 Million

iNTERESTING. None of the websites except for SOY-AM have any internal info...jocks, contacts, pix, artist info --- There are ads on AA looking for morning and afternoon hosts and PD..but AA lists Roy Jaynes as the PDof DZQ. Is this Roy Jaynes from Tennessee...aka Cadillac Jack??
