WSPA Christmas music

Not surprised if CC goes national/regional with their formats. Like previously stated, it means nothing to the listeners, but could be a bit odd (99.9 and 92.5's Country formats can both be picked up well in the Asheville/Greenville areas, would be strange having the same same songs at the same time on both stations)...meaning less variety.

FWIW, WLFJ 89.3 is all-Christmas. Not sure how long it's been going on but I'm liking their mix.

The two times I checked today WBBQ/Augusta and WMYI were both playing the same songs at the same time but at different parts of the songs. Wasn't able to get WLYT. What a joke! I notice this mostly on the weekends.

If all the CC stations are going to use the same playlist, why not at least "shuffle" the songs in each local market, so it's not so obvious?

OK, so the average listener is not going to notice. But you'd think they'd at least make the effort so it would seem like each station was programmed locally, especially with stations like 102.5 & 102.9 so close on the dial.

someone told me once that the programmers of cc stations could modify the christmas music logs to reflect their market. christmas in dixie more in the south than in yankee land etc. i am not sure it makes a difference and i don't hear anything that stands out on wspa or wmyi. 12 days of christmas used to be a great bathroom song.

i do like the selection of music on wlfj which understandably is more religious in nature. it is more like the carols that christmas is all about. i am not sure playing the eagles, mariah carey, the carpenters, and harry simone chorale over and over again makes you a better christmas station. is it true that wspa's legal identification at the top of the hour is longer than some of the shorter christmas songs?

well, it isn't as long as the normal one. "Magic 98.9...WSPA-FM Spartanburg Greenville...in Asheville @ 97.7 FM...an Entercom Comm. station...on your computer @ work...Lite rock...blah blah blah"
let's kick things off with another sleepy song....maybe Tiny Dancer would be nice.
