WSPO flips

WSPO 1390 in Charleston has switched formats. They are now a simulcast of W257BQ at 99.3, with their regional Mexican "Mex Mix" format. This just happened today, as they were sports yesterday there.

The format lasted just less than 3 years. This leaves Charleston without Jim Rome and Fox Sports Radio, but Fox Sports will eventually go back to 1450 owned by Kirkman.

That station for the last few months has been poor. Few local commercials, no play-by-play of any sort, and almost no local programming. It is a far cry from their beginning, when they had two local shows and actually sounded decent. Apex basically ran that station into the ground.

It's bad that such a heritage AM in Charleston has basically become a throw-away station.

Didn't they flip The Box to country last year around this time (Memorial Day weekend)? I'll be tuning in the next few days to 99.3 & 1390 to see if anything changes.
Has 99.3 had any impact on WAZS (El Sol) 980 & 1480?
