I see that they are looking for a PD and some talent. How is Muzzy? I read that the station was in debt? Is this true? If it is, I am not going to send in my package, I might NOT get paid if its true. I don't live in that area, so just trying to get a feel.
Thanks

Muzzy? I can't even begin. Well at least they're FINALLY looking into bettering that station. I don't think its to bad but it needs some work.

As for Muzzy's debt problem, I doubt that he would ever sell his stations. Rick is the kind of guy who would run his stations out of his house if he had to.

What they could also use is an engineer. The old engineer apparently left and the station has poor audio quality (music loaded in mono, left channel quieter then the other, etc)

They were in debt for a time. Not sure if its gotten better or not. There were several occations where the sheriff was going to auction off the building but Muzzy was able to stop the auctions. Sister station WKQH-104.9 flipped to Active Rock in October 2003. Had a pretty much full airstaff but a bunch of people left and new people came in.

I don't know the guy personally, but this is all of what I've heard.
______________

I have heard many things about Muzzy, much mixed feelings. I think that he is trying to better his stations, and has brought in a very good PD for the active rock station he owns, who used to work at the other active rock station in the area. His company has filed for chapter 11 (I think it is?), but it seems he is starting to get back on his feet.

All in all, WSPT has potential, and it needs the correct person to fix the problems. Most of the problems seem to be song encoding, and song selection in general. I think if these issues could be resolved, and with some better djs and PD, the ratings would probably go up a couple points. I guess it is all up to you on what you want to do.
______________

Re: WSPT

It's a total nightmare up there.

If you can live without money, go for it.
