You got to hand it to nelson. He's going to end up with a really nice daytimer there. Assuming 1160 never goes IBOC & some day they turn the iboc crap off of 1200. The old 1180 CP was with monster 6 tower directional station. I wonder if it was all a ploy to hold the the coverage?
If so is the 5 tower monster on 1480 he has filed to build in millbrook really just a holding pattern? I can't see it being build with 5 towers. But even if 1480 in madison goes silent. How can that help with 1490 in beloit?
I think the only AM's worth building now are omni. Night time is not even worth the effort IMO.<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by Link on 03/11/06 09:49 PM.</FONT></P>
When the FCC was planning AM stations, they didn't give a lot of thought about the future. Lots of small town AM stations, daytimers. What about a good regional AM. KMOX is a blowtoch, I'm not talking 50kW. What about 5KW with a good 1KW for nighttime? That 100watt junk is horrible.
