WSRO 650 all digital Dec 1

Something on boston-radio-interest mailing list saying WSRO 650 switched to classical music on
Jan 1...there may be webstreams of both classical and jazz. Can they put out an HD2 signal on AM or is it HD1 only? The FM trans
presumably duplicates 650.

WSRO 650 AM is now classical in digital (HD1) only. There is no HD2. I've seen some say that HD subchannels could be used on AM, but I've never seen it done. I'm not close enough to hear the analog 102.1 translator, but I assume it has to rebroadcast the AM programming regardless of whether it's analog or digital, so I assume it's also classical.

WXBR 1410 AM and its 98.1 FM translator are still broadcasting jazz. There are no web streams. Neither WSRO or WZBR currently have active websites online.

Yup. On an analog radio, you'll just hear that rush of noise.

The MA3 all-digital signal is pretty tightly contained within the normal +/- 5 kHz of the center frequency. If you have a selective enough receiver and you're not sitting right next to the tower, you can still hear adjacent-channel analog stations.
That was the answer I as looking for.Thank You, Scott
