As I was channel surfing on the drive home earlier tonight, I stopped on WSRS for awhile just a little before 6pm. At 6pm, I was somewhat surprised, maybe even a tad horrified, to hear Ryan Seacrest interviewing Taylor Swift. Apparently, Taylor's new album (Red) drops today or this week as does a song on the album also called Red and this was the debut of that song and some others as well. I stuck with the interview for about 15 minutes which included playing 2 or 3 of her songs and how she came about the ideas for them and then I dumped it. I really thought I wouldn't be able to stand listening to Taylor Swift talk. Turns out, I really couldn't stand listening to Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest sounded more like an annoying teenager than Swift did (she's actually 22). And I wasn't all that impressed with any of her songs although I'm sure her fans will love them.
So, what was the deal with this interview airing on WSRS? Was it a Clear Channel company mandated thing because, as far as I know (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), WSRS doesn't normally air stuff from RS's radio show unlike Kiss 108. I'm guessing, then, it also aired on Kiss 108. Does Kiss 108 play Taylor Swift?
Edit: Just checked Kiss 108's website and it does promote the interview as an I Heart Radio Album Release Party.
