WSTW All Christmas

The Delaware Valley has another all Christmas Station. WSTW flipped on Tuesday taking a position that hasn't existed since the sale of WJBR. Smart decision for a Hot AC station that borders CHR or part of something new...perhaps a more mainstream AC approach after the holidays?

And, given where WSTW-FM is located, it would be Christmas competition for Philadelphia's WBEB.

Well, as I just said in another thread, an unlikely flip to Christmas does often lead to a format change on the 26th.

A subtle change in music such as you suggest is a lot easier to implement with a Christmas block in between. The option you suggest would be a matter of taking out the "hot" titles, adding "mainstream" ones, reordering the scheduling categories and hot clocks, etc. That's something that is facilitated by not having to generate a "regular" music log for a few weeks.

They are running music promos...what they will be after Christmas. I didn't sense from those that any musical change is coming. Not sure a change is really necessary anyway.
