My dentists's office in Delaware County used to play WMGK or WXPN.
Today, they had on WSTW. I have to assume the radio
In recent posts regarding the departure of their long-time PD, some people expressed an opinion that this station was "all over the map" and lacked focus.
Well, after listening for for a little over an hour this morning, I can say that the daytime music is definitely a hot AC. I don't listen to FM radio anymore after getting Sirius. But on Sirius I listen to The Pulse which is the "90s and Now" Hot AC station. WSTW's late morning playlist sounded exactly like The Pulse.
Heavily dayparted CHRs in medium markets aren't unusual. I just wonder whether there's been a sea change in the 20 and 30-year-olds they're targeting that makes a station that sounds one way from 5 am to 3 pm and another after 3 pm something they want to listen to.
If a PD is brought in from the outside, it'll be interesting to see what happens to the station - including on-air hosts.
