WSVN sale to Fox untrue

FTVLive is reporting the alleged sale of WSVN to Fox is totally untrue. FTVLive says they placed calls to both WSVN and Fox. Both parties are stating this supposed "sale" is bogus. The rumors of a sale started on TVSpy. Newsblues also ran with this rumor as truth. FTVLive seems to be the only website to have the real story.

I'm not surprised this rumor started, as there have been rumors from time-to-time that Ed Ansin (who owns both Miami's WSVN-7 and Boston's WHDH-7) would sell WSVN and WHDH to Fox and NBC, respectively. The most frequent rumor over the last few years had NBC buying both stations and spinning-off WSVN to Fox because NBC/Universal already owns two TV stations in Miami.

On the other hand, were Ansin to sell-off his two TV stations, he'd get quite a lot of money for them.

But either he doesn't want to sell, or he might be waiting for what he believes to be the "right" offer----an offer he has yet to receive.
