WSYB...what, no high school football scores?

Well, Jack's been gone 1 week, and already they've forgotten that they broadcast high school football on the weekends.

What, no local sports scores anymore?

I missed the MSJ game saturday...can anyone tell me what the score was?

So what do the local folk think about WSYB in the post Healey era? Vermont's Sports Leader? Not anymore!

Post Healey?? In trouble!! Note to sponsors: go to www.neksports.net, and contact them about putting your ad dollars on that instead! I saw Jack at both the Rutland game Friday night, and the MSJ game Saturday. He seems to be happy and I bet NEK is glad to have him on board as well! Nice to see his longtime sports caster, Vince, riding shotgun on Friday night too! But it doesn't end there...fellow-former Catamount Cast-off that was mis-treated and shown the door, John Lawrence is part of the NEK team too. Doesnt bode well for the Opera House, but who's kidding who, they could care less about high school sports anyway. Switch your computers to get all the coverage that we've grown to expect and respect in thr Rutland area, off go the radio's on goes the WWW....NEKSPORTS.NET. Heard it on the PA Friday and heard Jack say it while I was near the booth! The award winning coverage is still available to Rutland, just in a different place. Great job Marbles and Bear, your mission is almost complete!

Nice work, Poon. The gusto with which you ignored his question is awe-inspiring.

To answer it, South Burlington beat the tar out of MSJ. Dammit.

Will,
You are right, and I offer an apology for leaving that fact out. I won't let it happen again.

Great call Poon! I went to that website and couldn't see Jack anywhere! After extensive searching, I found the place where Jack and Vince and John and Mr. Como are, but couldn't access the audio file. Not to mention Jack's "morning show". My prediction? Jack will be back just in time to call the playoffs.

I don't see this internet thing working out for anyone. So far, to quote an old ad campaign: "Radio Gets Results". Good luck selling the web Poon. There's a home for you here too!

Who am I? I AM THE MAN-THAT'S WHO!

With Jack on Board...NEK has instant credibilty.

I hope his old station will get someone new. I hate to see community radio go by the wayside.

I just checked out some of the highlights on NEK's website and both George and Jack sound as good as ever. Those two are two of the classiest human beings on the planet and I am glad to hear they are doing well.

Jack will be missed on the UVM Hockey broadcasts. I used to love running to the car after the game so I could hear his call of the goals on the post game.

Chris is an awesome guy but he doesn't have Jack's chops. Was his hire as money saving move?

Well, considering that WVMT carries UVM hockey, I think you just answered your own question.

Do you think the powers at Pamal would allow advertising FROM NEK Sports? I'll bet the Fox would! How do you think that would gnaw in the craw of the dynamic duo?

Good Question Bid! Fact is, at this point, Pamal will except advertising from ANYONE willing to buy there stale, outdated formats.

Whatever happened to "Well, Jack had a great run on WSYB and I wish him luck on his new venture."? By the way, anyone who refuses to see that internet will be at the very least radio's companion as well as competition, is living in a dreamworld.

NH Radio Child, great question you posed to THEMAN. Maybe THEMAN realizes that he just lost his last real asset! Also, I went to NEKSPORTS.NET this morning, and the link to Jack's show was right there! NH Radio, great point about the internet and it being a companion and competition to radio. Note to NEK SPORTS, contact 101 The Fox and have them carry your local streams on their site. At least 1 station gets it, and realizes that streaming is great for a station here!

Hello Will. See ya soon,

Love,

Poon

Hey Poon...don't hold your breath on that internet radio thing...how's that Sirius and XM stock holding up? I remember, not so long ago, that satellite radio was going to take over the world and make all of us obsolete. Guess what Mr. Poon: We're still going strong here! The fact of the matter is that radio is where its at. You can't take the internet radio with you in the car or on your portable radio. Unless your at work or feel like living in the old days of radio with everyone huddled around the desktop...lets just say it will be a while before the internet becomes more than JUST a novelty.

NEK should do the smart thing, and cozy up to WSYB. Not the Fox. The Fox isn't a sports station. WSYB is. NEK should be working on all the talk/sports stations in the region. Wouldn't that be the best way to draw MORE people to your website? Instead of hoping that word of mouth and compatible software gets it done? What difference does it make if the best sports announcer in the region calls a touchdown if no one is there to hear it?

Tell your friends at NEK, Mr. Poon that, for the right amount of money, old-time radio will be HAPPY to help them out.

Love you too brother,
Who am I?

Actually when the old analogue TV spectrum is used to deliver broadband I believe we’ll be able to listen to Internet radio everywhere… However I am optimistic that local radio will remain relevant.

Sorry I but into your very entertaining thread… (SFX: DING DING DING) OK fellows, back in the ring.

THEMAN, haven't I told you to switch to decaf cool aid? (Will, hows the spelling?). You seem to be very nervous about something, I'm still trying to figure it out

I don't think you should worry too too much, afterall, you are THEMAN, that's who you are!

Arnie, its spelled "Kool-Aid" and Oh yeah...use a squirt gun to get down just right! Listen, I know you have some kind of deep seeded hatret for everything Pamal and Catamount Radio. I do not. Lets agree to disagree on that.

Worried? What me worry? I'm at home my good friend. A place where Jack and, yes Arnie, even you will be welcomed back with big open arms.

Radio, as I said with complete clarity before, is where its at! Come on home.

Will, Well done!! Thank you, as always , you hit the nail right on the head! THEMAN, "come home", Where is home? I don't recall leaving, but this should interesting. And for the record, I don't hate Catamount and Pamal, I just think the truth about how they do things needs to be brought out. But if you're THEMAN, you'll be fine.

With love,

IAMTHEMANSBIGGESTFAN
