I was flipping through stations the other day and heard that WSYI (Shine 105.9) was airing talk shows / preaching rather than CCM. They apparently dropped their affiliation with Salem's TCM feed the start of this month or thereabouts per their website.
This would leave WFBR-LP 95.3 out of Mt. Washington (known as "Reach 95" reach95.org) as the only affiliate for that network in this area for shows like "Doug and Jaci", etc.
This probably will benefit both stations...while a low power station, WFBR did reach into much of Jefferson County, the most populace area of WSYI's listening audience...WFBR had already been affiliating with that network before WSYI, so when WSYI picked it up they were in effect just splitting the audience, probably not good for having a listener base for either station. This change by WSYI gives both stations their own unique programming in this area.
