WTAG-AM 580 in Worcester recently made some tweaks to AM & PM drive. They are now using the Total Traffic Network for their traffic reports (Don't know if sister station WSRS-FM is also using it). Previously they were in-house reports done by the Paul Wescott Show producer and the Jordan Levy Show producer.
I have to say they seem to be a big improvement from what they had previously. I was driving through Worcester yesterday afternoon on 290 East and their reporter was mentioning that traffic was bumper-to-bumper on the West bound side of 290 from Exit 20 to Exit 14. It was exactly as they stated.
One gripe though, in the morning they promote traffic reports every 10 minutes on the 8s. It is a rare occurence when Paul Wescott actually airs them on the 8s. And when he breaks for the reports, he always tells his listeners that he will be right back after a brief timeout.
If your station is promoting T&W together on the 8s, wouldn't you want to tell listeners I'll be right back after we take a look at traffic?
