WTAL-AM 1450 Tallahassee off the air?

WTAL-AM 1450 Tallahassee off the air on Saturday April 27th 2013. As i turn to AM Radio I been hearing Oldies/nostalgia music from AM-1450 The Dove from Sarasota.
 
Oldies and nostalgia on 1450 would be an improvement.

This is probably a technical issue. They have become very sloppy with their programming and I have heard them run a dead carrier for days in the past. Darn shame.

My first job was at WTAL and it was a tightly formatted, well-liked station at that time.
 
So what the diffent between AM-1450 WTAL and AM-1410 WHBT they are both Gospel station in Tallahassee's AM dail.

Remeber that other AM-1450 I hread wasnt in Tallahassee its was in Sarasota (Tampa Bay) AM-1450/1320 The Dove (Clear Channel Radio)
 
WHBT is Cumulus' gospel station and plays music from the Sheridan Network and has some live and local programs, including a live afternoon show. It has managed to get a rating in the latest book.

WTAL is Live Broadcasting's gospel station that started out decent but has gone downhill in the past few years. It plays music from Rejoice Gospel Network.

So, not a lot of difference. WSTT on 730 in Thomasville has been in the gospel format since 1995 and
play their music locally.

I don't know how so many gospel and Christian stations survive with that pie sliced so thin.

WTAL is indeed off the air today. Probably is technical issues.
 
Thanks, Louis. We should meet in person one day if you still work at DHSV. That's only about two miles from me.
 
WTAL-1450 still off the air as Im hearing The Dove AM-1450 from Sarasota Florida.

I am in the Crawfordville Florida (north florida big bend) picking up alot of AM stations from Tampa Bay and also AM-560 The Ball which is now ESPN Radio (Dothan) still playing gospel on sundays.
 
WTAL is back on the air today - Wednesday May 1.
 
I hear it at 5:00pm as just checking the AM dial. its really mess up AM-1410 WHBT unless im very close to the WTAL tower around Apalachee Parkway and Park Ave down to Southwood area. I know the station is on West Tennessee St.
