The Maloner’s 9am hour feels more like a victory lap/"one last thing before I finally retire" deal similar to Lanigan being on The Spew. He really doesn’t fit with the rest of the station.Jimmy Malone is at WTAM also. He could have filled in more today.
Might have something to do with minority requirements. The Maloner’s 9am hour feels more like a victory lap/"one last thing before I finally retire" deal similar to Lanigan being on The Spew. He really doesn’t fit with the rest of the station.
If so, Pastor Darrell Scott might have been a better choice, although I don't know if he would have been able to do it M-F. I assume Malone is still under contract and they need to keep him around in some capacity until his contact expires.Might have something to do with minority requirements.
Mansfield Frazier had a show called The Forum on Sunday afternoons. It was very reminiscent of old style political radio, with callers duking it out with the host (instead of ass kissing). If so, Pastor Darrell Scott might have been a better choice, although I don't know if he would have been able to do it M-F. Had it not been a Browns game day you would not have likely heard live voices in the morning hours of January 1.Yet on Sunday, New Year's Day, they had a bunch of folks on air for the Countdown to Kickoff show.
Malone could retire at any time and easily could have done so with the WMJI revamp. This is more iHeart giving him a gig so Audacy doesn’t pick him up if he decides to retire, then un-retire. (Again, see when Lanigan was on The Spew)Might have something to do with minority requirements.
It’s easier to sell advertising for a four-hour Browns pregame show than it is for morning drive on a federal holiday.Yet on Sunday, New Year's Day, they had a bunch of folks on air for the Countdown to Kickoff show.
