WTAM FCC Violation 12/7/09 Exact time: 6:39pm

Today at 6:39pm, Triv was talking about Tiger Wood's girlfriends when he said one of them had "big t*ts." Immediately afterward he said "umm big boobs." and the rest of the cast acted very uncomfortable.

He said the entire word. How much would Clearchannel be fined if someone happened to have a recording of said broadcast and sent it to the FCC? ??? ;D

Is Clearchannel going to do the right thing and follow their highly touted "Zero Tolerance" policy?

:D

It only applied to Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge. 'Nuff said.

Wrong.

Clear Channel's new zero-tolerance policy includes a provision in all contracts with on-air talent ensuring that DJs share financial responsibility if they utter indecent material on the air.

Clear Channel, which operates eight Valley stations and approximately 1,200 nationwide, announced it would automatically suspend anyone the FCC alleges has violated indecency rules on the air.

Hope Triv's eatery is doing well...

Ooooh..."tits" was said on the air....on a station with a delay.

Did you scream bloody-unfair murder when the FCC fined (then later rescinded) CBS for SHOWING a tit during the Super Bowl?

If you did, there's only one word for you, and it begins with the letter "h".

See, youngster, you can't pick and choose your battles.....

I think if they are fined CC may just eat it. It would cost to much to suspend Triv. They'd have to pay for a crane to hoist him out of the studio and a flatbed truck to haul him away. That would probably cost more then any fine.

You should read up on the rules. Tits is just fine to say in that context. It's not the word, it's the use.

Move along, no FCC violation to hear here.

Nice flame attempt.

As crude as the word is, that's not the worst word allowed over the air.

Now if Triv would have uttered the N-word, that would have had some considerable backlash.

"Today at 6:39pm, Triv was talking about Tiger Wood's girlfriends when he said one of them had 'big t*ts.'".

Did he say it while gobbling a mouthful of food?

Another brilliant remark from the King Of The Bottom Feeders.

Nope! Not a violation. Poor taste? Yes. Violation, no. Sorry TAM haters, yesterday was not your day. Now, go back and put your tinn foial hats on and see what other transmitions you can pick up. Hurry now!

Tits, as George Carlin would say if he was still with us, would be "one of those words that isn't dirty all the time, it's only part time filth. If you're talking about the animal, it's fine." Let's see, you have titmice, long tailed tits, and even bearded tits (which I hope never to see). Really, look it up, these tits fly! So all Triv would have to say if he was "cornered" on his use of the word, is that he meant that he thought Woods' girlfriend raised birds, and she had a couple of tits (birds) that are rather large for the breed, and there you go, she has big tits. OK, I think we have that issue licked now.

Funny how we mention that CC would "eat (the fine)" and have Triv in the same sentence. :p

Meantime, one of Rizzo's female sidekicks - Sabrina Parr, who has had quite a bit of notoriety at WKNR/850 - said the other f-word (the derogatory term applied to homosexuals) at the start of one segment a few weeks back. Despite all the catcalls over at the OTHER chatboard - the "We hate Hammer and Gopher (Munch) Board" at cleveland.com - and despite a hissy fit on-air by Goldhammer... she wasn't fired. Nor fined. Nor lectured to by GLADD.

Poor taste? Triv? Hell, that qualifies as good taste by that show's standards.

And tinn foial? Tinn foial hats? ???

Latest from the foial line.

Maybe he was inventing a new word. He combined "foil" and "fail" to get foial!

The fact that the used the "Fa****" word on WKNR...maybe they were trying to make some artificial controversy so people would tune in, i.e.: get people riled up, have someone like GLAAD or HRC start firing off letters. If that was their intent, it probably just depresses them that there was no reaction at all because that just indicates how few people actually listen to them [I don't listen to them at all, Rizzo can take his "WEEEEEEEEE" and shove it in the urinal where it belongs]. I heard that someone contacted the Gay People's Chronicle about it and they basically said "who?" and declined to do a story. Aside from the few haters of anything WKNR on the Cleveland.com board the rest of the world doesn't really care about a station that probably bills in single digit numbers.

This thread is a great example of why radio is in trouble. Old guys who think people are still offended by these silly words.

The listening public could give two poops over use of either of the words. The MWL show used the F*G word all the time. It didn't offend anyone. Nobody would use the F*G word to create controversy on the radio. Do you know why? Because it's 2009 and F*G isn’t controversial anymore. When 95% of the gay population uses the word to describe their own lifestyle, the stigma is gone. How many times have you been in a sports bar and heard that word used to describe one of the guys in a group? Try every time you are in a sports bar!

Catch up with society guys, the rest of us will be waiting for you over in 2010.

Depends on the audience..Maxwell's target was 18-34 males who wouldn't care about the "F*G" word..however, former Kansas City Chiefs Running Back Larry Johnson would disagree, since he used it in a Twitter message and lost his gig, and remains without a job in the NFL..its all about the context in which you use the word, and the audience who hears or reads it..

The euphamism for the female breasts that rhymes with "hits" may be in poor taste, but it's not considered obscene by the FCC. The F-word and its various conjugations are.

Sure Baylor, everyone shares your warped sense of reality. ::)

African-Americans use the N-word to describe themselves. Try using that on the air know-it-all.
