WTAQ-1360 is now 10Kw days, 5Kw nights.

They turned on their new transmitter on Sunday...
and it sounds terrific!

WTAQ is now the 'most powerful radio station in
NE Wisconsin!'

Until WHBY's upgrade goes on, at least.

Speaking of NE WI upgrades, what's up with WNAM? Are they ever going to build the 50kw plant? The CP expires in July, can they get an extension?

Doesn't WCUB still claim to be NE Wisconsin's most powerful station?

'Course, NE Wisconsin's most powerful station actually is a three-way tie: WAPL, WQLH, WPFF...

Oops, forgot about WLST...

WIXX is "only" 96kw and WRVM "only" 98...

Factor in antenna height (not that that's literally part of "most powerful") and WAPL is the undisputed champ. They certainly have the best NE Wis signal in the Milwaukee area.

(however, WPFF is the only one that's managed to make itself heard down here in Nashville...)

(indeed, none of the NE Wis AM's has made the trip - though AMs elsewhere in the state have)
Edited by w9wi on 06/12/05 02:04 AM.

How true, though WIXX's 96kw@329m beats WQLH's 100kw@152m and WPFF's 100kw@195m any day! (I worked at both WIXX and WQLH over the years...)
______________
