WTAW in HD, KNDE to follow with Rock.

WTAW is now in HD.

I was listening to Candy 95 today and wasn't quite listening (Sucky Rythmic station that pretends to be a full Top 40 gets boring.), and then I heard a promo for their new HD channel Rock Candy 95 HD2, but they weren't in HD. So I went through the AM dial and checked both KZNE and WTAW, and WTAW was the only one in HD.

I guess we can expect KNDE to also go HD soon since even the webpage is promoting Rock Candy 95 HD2 and Play by Replay HD3 (Have no idea what that is).

Listen to Rock Candy now. http://www.bryanbroadcasting.com/

HD radio has officially entered Aggieland's Commercial Radio. (KAMU doesn't count)

It's funny how corporations constantly walk around stating how expensive it is, and how it's only going to available in major and large markets... then an independent company in a small market starts launching their HD's. ::)

Congrats to Bryan Broadcasting. And a big "what up" to Frito.

Wow, that's a big surprise for such a small market.

I don't EVER see Lubbock adopting HD. Heck, none of the Lubbock radio stations even scroll the songs that are playing via RDS (most of the stations simply display call letters or station name and nothing else).

The only station in HD we have in Lubbock is KOHM...I have a feeling that will be the 1st and only station to ever go HD around here.

Hopefully someday, the Lubbock market will catch up a little bit with the technology one of these days. But, hey, at least we have a ROCK station ;)

I love FMX, that is the only thing good that comes out of Lubbock ;). I doubt we will get an active rocker around here, but I guess KNDE-HD2 will do for now.

I have been told by the GM of Bryan Broadcasting to fill you guys in.

The boxes are arriving for KNDE's HD conversion. With the arrival of all of the boxes, KNDE expects to be broadcasting in HD sometime in October. WTAW has been broadcasting in HD since early to mid August.

They really need to make HD easer to receive. I had a HD Jump radio in my truck, it just kept going in and out all the time. I am only about 30 miles from the Austin Transmitters in my main home. Austin comes in great on analog. but HD is hard to get.

Mhh, I don't know about early August. Maybe they had it on day-time only. As of right now, they have the station 24/7 in HD.

You know, when WTAW came on the air, I realized something, HD works better in small markets. WTAW has no dropouts around the area day and night. With less area to concentrate on, WTAW is great. I wonder if CC will try to go HD now that HD has entered the market? Interesting Small Market isn't it? Aggieland is getting the big market treatment.

Johnny, you seem to live around here and know some stuff, we may know each other.
