WTBN new letters on TBN in NYC

Folks, Trinity Broadcasting System (TBN) was brought on cable in NYC on channel 92 since March 2006 and now has moved to channel 98 in late 2008.

So do you think that the new letters will become WTBN in NYC like same as KTBN in Los Angeles but not the WTBY in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County?

They can't be WTBN unless they can talk the AM station in Florida into giving up those calls, but I suppose they could be WTBN-TV or WTBN-DT.

I doubt they consider it worth the filing fee. TBN *does* seem to ID reliably (unlike some stations!) but they never seem to use the call letters at any other time.

On top of w9wi's observations, TBN never really put much effort into putting their brand into the call letters, as Pax, The WB, UPN, The CW, and MyNetwork TV have.

Also, their community of license would probably never change from Poughkeepsie to New York, as that would (in the FCC's eyes) remove a community's only local TV station. Very seldom does the FCC allow that, and when they do, it's almost always a brand-new station that hasn't yet signed on the air.

In a related post, I just recently noticed that Cablevision has added WTBY to its New York City lineup, albeit in the digital tier on Channel 134. Not sure exactly when they started carrying the channel.

And since TeleFutura has served in call letters WFUT-DT in Newark, New Jersey and WFTY-DT in Smithtown, New York. So once again do you think it will have a part of a contract in order to have call letters like maybe in NYC, any NJ or any CT?
