I see them going Hot A/C. The market doesn't have one. However that may take away listeners from B101. Maybe Rhythmic Hot A/C like 103.5 KTU or something like 94.7 The Block in New York or Tropical music? AAA?

A legitimate challenger to Beasley's WXTU or a pesky "hot country" flanker, like iHeart's WBWL Boston, which siphons listeners and ad dollars away from Beasley's WKLB while consistently trailing the format leader in the Nielsens?
Remember 101.7 the bull exists to keep demos down at kiss 108 and to clear Bobby bones that’s it
Does Audacy have a country morning show it wants to clear in Philadelphia?
If TDY plays Swift's country hits this weekend along with her more recent hits that were never sent to country radio, that might indicate a flip on Monday. I realize she had a lot of crossover success (Love Story, Mine, We Are Never Getting Back Together, etc.). I'm talking more about songs like Ours, Teardrops on My Guitar and Tim McGraw.
My money's still on a contest, though.
The tropical format in Philly is crowded enough, with the oldest one being La Mega 1310, followed by 1340 La Kalle, and the "bebe" of the three being Rumba 106.1.
A playlist tweak (e.g. more "throwbacks" alongside recent and current hits), air personality change, or "stationality" change of some kind seem like the most likely possibilities. I would not at all expect a massive change. The past two or three surveys have shown minor performance improvements, so now Audacy is finally giving the station some much needed attention.
I've listened to radio long enough to remember when radio stations(not just in Philly, but EVERYWHERE)gave away stuff BESIDES cash.

Exactly. Not sure why people are in denial. Anything can happen in Philly radio. We don't have a lot of info to confirm it, just we have to wait until Monday morning.
...or if Lance gets confirmation on DNS registrations first. If that happens.
To a Caribbean origin audience, Salsa and / or Merengue are "tropical" (although nobody calls the format or the music by that name). The format on Rumba is basically Spanish CHR or Spanish rhythmic/Churban or, simply, reggaetón. It is not "tropical" by any definition.
WEMG is a mix of salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaetón and even some Colombian vallenato. It is the closest to being what might be called "tropical" and that is how they are defined by MediaBase. WHAT also includes some classic salsa, but is much more reggaetón based
With the differences, are WUMR, WHAT, and WEMG targeting different audiences?
