WTDY Stunting... but don't get your hopes up

I wonder if TDY will continue carrying (maybe obligated?) Most Requested Live with Romeo? Considering the music is CHR, it seems pretty out of place now.

I’m streaming this station a lot, not really out of curiosity but because I enjoy it. I really hope this works for Audacy.

Until December 26th, 2022, sister station B101 was positioned hotter than it currently is. Because of this and 101.1's past history of absolutely destroying any competition, there wasn't a lane for a Hot AC in Philly, despite many attempts.

Now, with 96.5 and 101.1 being sister stations, and the parent company moving 101.1 slightly older and softer, they intentionally opened up a lane for sister 96.5 to shift to Hot AC.

It's not a question of Hot AC "working" as as format. It was always an issue of there being a lane for it in Philly radio, and now there is, and with their sister station's blessing, it has the best shot of sticking around longer since it won't fear a head-on attack.
It’s the same reason why AC will never work in Minneapolis.

You must not be paying attention to the conversation.
I’ve read this whole thread. You must not understand anything about this market, based on your argument.

Classic Hip Hop has been tried several times and has failed to catch on in Philly. Not sure why you think this attempt would be any different. You’re crapping all over the station and saying AC is not successful in Philly while either ignoring or not understanding that WBEB has been very successful, and the reason why competitors to it (even WTDY before Entercom bought B) have always failed.

Hot AC has a much better chance of succeeding in Philly. Than throwback hip hop. WDAS-FM and WUSL has a stranglehold on that audience even radio one is struggling

They were airing it yesterday, so yes. Plus it's an Audacy originated program. So even though it may be CHR focused, they'll make it fit onto a Hot AC

and after the breeze Philly launched they wanted to launch more breeze formatted stations in more markets it didn’t happen though

Meaning that while they had great ratings, they didn't make enough $$$ and dragged the cluster down? too old a demmo
Yes. You add softer tracks, especially those with not much in the way of rhythm, to your AC playlist and you risk becoming too attractive to the advertiser-despised 55+ demo, to which those tracks are reminiscent of the way AC used to be 30 or so years ago.
