WTDY

Where in a situation where every station with the exception of WTDY is doing okay to great. Do you think WTDY will be better off if Entercom fliped to an HOT AC format and add some older pop tracks to the playlist. Or if they brought back it’s wired 96.5 branding

I don't think Radio One is setting the world on fire with their properties, since they came into town, burned three good stations, they have been tanking. They just should find a buyer and split, like they did in Detroit, Philly is not Baltimore or DC.

This question comes up every few months, and it's pretty obvious they've decided they want a young station at 96.5.

When you look at groups like Entercom, consider how each station sits in the context of the rest of the cluster.

Exactly. WTDY makes money for them, and fits the cluster nicely in terms of who they are targeting. Plus they've shaved listeners from iHeart and Q102, so that's a bonus for them. Adding in "older" tracks could start to eat away a little at B101's listenership (which is already hurting a bit at the moment anyway). Best to keep WTDY as a CHR.

Radio One definitely isn't "tanking." They have 2 of the smallest FM signals in Philly, and make decent money with them. (I remember DavidEduardo saying that, if I remember correctly, both 103.9 and 107.9 with their tiny signals bill more than 104.5 with a "full-market" signal.) And 100.3 has seemed solid in recent years. Honestly, I think that Radio/Urban One is the best operator for the 103.9 and 107.9 signals since they aim for Urban listenership, and that's what those signals cover best.

So pretty much a Philly version of WNEW. Nah, leave TDY the way it is.
