WTF 102.7

I wanted to give the new WILD a chance. Could they have found a hole in the market. Could they pull this off. Ahhh NO ! After a non memorable launch and a MTV Party To Go playlist looks like this thing could sink faster than I thought. With a terrible out of market morning show and talk on a dance station till 11am how do they plan on stealing listeners from AYV? The mid day guy that sounds like a school teacher with nothing more to say than the phone numbers over and over and over. Afternoon drive went to a throw away jock in Travis (something) real name Ben. Finishing off the day with Scotty an established rock jock from the JSE days. The station was thrown together and thats the way its sounds. The Station flip as been planned for 2 months and not one new client. Wait till the client hear about the switch. Looks like those beer remotes will go away. Hey guys you cant live on 1 spot commercial breaks. The bags of money promised from JVC Broadcasting has quickly turned into dinner comps for the buffet. This is the best comedy show to roll through AC in a while. Please never leave us !!!

I agree with you that the out-of-market morning show sounds out of place on Wild. I'd rather have NO morning show.

What do you mean about the "bags of money" from JVC? Is JVC paying Atlantic to program the Wild format, in a similar fashion as an LMA?

Not sure where to even post this without starting yet another thread about JSE/Wild...
My son and grand son were going to go to the protest but my grandson came down with the summer flu...
I find it funny that no one has posted anything about it.

Does anyone have any info on it?

Thanks.

The morning show is a huge mistake...it sounds terrible. They are promoting a dance format. Music intensive would be the way to go with one jock(not a morning show...just one jock doing breaks) As for Scotty for some reason he gets a pass because he worked at WYSP in Philly at night for a bit when they had the FREE FM talk format. People see that or know that and POOf he's fantastic. Radio works that way..it's who you know and where you've been...now I'm not saying Scotty is a bad jock I'm saying he clearly does not fit this format and probably was kept on due to his major market experience.
About the advertising..it is going to take a little bit..are they supposed to be full at this point?

Your rant is growing very tired. The station just flipped. It takes new formats some time to get new advertisers. Wired in Philly had a "janitor" running the station forever and it took them time to get businesses to spend money. All stations go through this.

This board should get sponsored by Kleenex

Please...Scotty "major market"? He wasn't there long enough to gain anything.

and..."What I heard", I had many ex emloyees like you...you were probably an under achiever at Atlantic, and you really should worry about whoever you work for now, assuming you are working.

I noticed there still has been no response to the protest question, how did it go?
Where are all those folks who posted about it?

According to the Save WJSE Rock FB page, one of the admins posted this quote:

"Thanks for showing up to the protest :( "

sooooo....I guess it didn't go well.

They could claim "success" if more people showed up at the protest against Wild 102.7 than the number of people who showed up at Mega Jam that same day in support of Party 105. Besides, it's obvious that most of the Wild 102.7 staff wouldn't even be in Linwood that day, they likely would have made the trip up to Long Island for Mega Jam because it's JVC Broadcasting's biggest event.

Well, there still is the one person protester in "What I've Heard", which is probably the same amount of people that showed up to cry about the loss of Alternative. ::) ;D

Face it, in this day and age, nobody cares about these things. Too many choices out there to hear what you want. Just like nobody cares about what a disgruntled ex employee has to say. Eventually they all fade to black.....
