WTF at WRSO on 3/17/13?

I turned into WRSO at 4:30 PM today as I was leaving the Orange County Convention Center to make the trip back to Tampa and they kept running the exact same spot hyping "the launch of WRSO 810 in the Fall" and that they were partnering with Yahoo Sports Radio (their website says they're with CBS SPorts Radio) and the spot kept repeating over and over until I gave up and changed the station.

That happens anytime the station is on CBS Sports Radio network programming and loses its satellite feed. When they lose the feed it kicks to to the transmitter site where they have this loop loaded on the computer there. The idiots at Rivalz Sports Group, who lease the station from owner Star Over Orlando never bothered to changed the original recording they made for the loop when they first went on the air back in August. It makes the station sound stupid since it promotes a new station being launched by Rivalz and says they are a Yahoo Sports Radio affiliate.

You have to understand the ignorance and stupidity of the two bozos who own Rivalz Sports and no nothing about radio. These guys struggle to make each payroll and can only pay their expenses by one of the owners digging in to his own pocket each time. The station bills nothing. They couldn't pay the General Manager, Sales Manager or Program Director. So all the station has left is a couple of producers, one sales guy, and one talent that they pay. The other talent only gets paid on what they sell.

Rivalz doesn't have the station any longer. Star Over Orlando took it back (again) around Feb. 10.

See what happens when you don't buy the book. They're one of four sports stations in a town with only one professional team and one college program. They don't carry any of those teams games. And now they want an FM translator? Oh yea, that will be the answer to all of their problems. Plus they have an outdated website http://810wrso.com/

Start Over Orlando was going to take the station back due to non payment on the lease. But at the last minute in February Rivalz made the payment, claiming it was late due to a mix up. Rivalz still kept the lease. Of course Star could have taken it back if they missed the March payment.

If they bought the book, they wouldn't be in it. That would be a waste of money.

Money that they apparently don't have ;D
I could swear I once heard back in the days of the Aribitron book that if you bought into it, they would at least give you a 0.3 even if you wound up with less then that in diary returns. Guess that doesn't work in the PPM world.

The nitwit who was running 'RSO originally fired the original Operations Manager, replacing him with a guy who had been an intern at 104.1. That guy wised up and left to go back to CC and now they have some kid out of college (who attempted to orchestrate a coup against Doc) who's supposed to be taking care of the automation; something he clearly doesn't know how to do. How long, Oh Lord, how long? ;D ;D
