WTF Beauty and the Geek on MTV

Haha A lot of MTV bashing going on this week! Well my friend, that is a good question. But my response, screw MTV and everything they stand for! They are now a general entertainment network that ACTS like a music channel. Do you have Fuse? Oh my, they are just as bad! They now air reality shows, and even reruns of the soap opera "Felicity". Not only that, they show horror movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and others from time to time. As far as for Beauty and the Geek, well it fits in the teen female demographic of the channel, so it really doesn't look all that out of place for them. They also air reruns of Americas Top Model. Sad and pathetic what this channel is now. CMT too, man I feel sorry for the country fans who have JUST been getting shafted these past few years and especially now. But, it's been a ongoing process at MTV to the point where now you expect it. At least there is GAC for the country fans. But MTV, there is no other network really. Fuse as I've said is just as bad and they were never really a Top 40 music channel in the first place. The internet is the way to go to watch videos.

Case in point: I'd heard alot of great things about Fuse. We got DIRECTV in early 2005 and Fuse at that point was truly a breath of fresh air from MTV's horrible idiocy, with ad campaigns focused on rubbing dirt in MTV's eye and slogans like "Fuse: Where The Music Went". Now, as you so succinctly said DoubleO, it's become just as if not more than appalling as MTV and its spinoffs, with the channel airing Felicity and movies (Super Troopers aired recently; upcoming movies set to air include Child's Play, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers) among many other non-music related series! And am I the only one who thinks Pants Off Dance Off is incredibly stupid? We're not the only ones paying attention, as I checked out the message boards at http://www.fuse.tv and the posters there are, well let's just say miffed, that the channel's taken this current direction.

Do you get The Tube at all? I get it here on WTXX-DT (CW) channel 20.2 (really channel 12.2) here in greater Hartford, CT.

The Tube is awesome! We get an hour's worth of it early Sunday mornings on our Raycom-owned CBS affiliate, WTOC. Comcast, our cable company, has The Tube available on digital cable. Alas, we have DIRECTV. I'd love to see The Tube get carriage on DIRECTV.
