WTF:??? Fox19, WLW form broadcast/marketing partnership

its just the latest dollars for hollars scheme. When the money ends they will go back to Channel 5 or Local 12.

With a great news department like WLW has, where's the need for updates from WXIX??

I sure hope this does not mean the loss of Ken Broo on the Sunday morning WLW show or his periodic appearances on Willie's show.

Broo is great.

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of 700 WLW. They actually still have a LIVE LOCAL news broadcast every hour 7 days a week and almost all local progamming. Something we lost in Louisville, KY years ago. 84 WHAS is a joke and I haven't listened in years now. WLW actually provides local weather reports and warnings...not just the stupid EAS broadcast computer that mis-pronounces half of the town names.

Let's not panic, ch 5 did not make WLW radio what it is today....

Ch 5 didn't want to spend cash to promote their news, weather and sports, like $250,000.

Fox 19 is willing spend the money....

Not at WLW. It's WKRC-AM 550. Fox 19 will provide THAT station with news updates in addition to weather.

WLW deal is strictly for weather only.

Great? Compared to what? They rip and read the police blotter in between plugs for their web site. "In depth team coverage!" lol.

This may be slightly off topic...and mere reminiscing, but years ago while listening to WLW during the day, I would turn down the volume and used a watch timer on my car visor set for 4 minutes to alarm me to tune back in. Then it was 4.5 minutes, now its 6 minutes and often 6 minutes+.

The longer the break the easier it is to forget to turn it back on.

Oh, for the good old days.

I often do the same thing. I can't stand all their commercials. Whatever happened to "Less is More"?

Let the speculation begin anew...

WKRC-TV's Bob Herzog posted on his Facebook page that Brian and Laura from WKRQ-FM 101.9 will be on Local12 Good Morning Cincinnati on Friday morning for DPF.

This could be a whole lot of nothing - but on the other hand, WKRQ was left with no local news/weather affiliate when WXIX-TV 19 signed the deal with CC. Might this be what launches a new WKRQ/WKRC partnership???

Honestly, when I heard this partnership; starting on April 1 no less...I thought it was an April Fool's Day Joke.

Then again, maybe it was...and it worked.... :-\
