WTF Happened to KLAC in LA?

I read that Clear Channel gassed 1800 people but they really have hit rock bottom by using lame KLAC local shows as national network shows? I'm sure all of that Laker talk is knocking them dead all around the US.

The worst thing they did was put JT the Bricks awful show on at night and take off Tony Bruno. Just what they needed, another tired show where their idea of hip is playing rock music behind callers. At least Bruno sounded like he's having a good time and he mixed it up with humor and interesting stories.

No wonder sports talk is dying. Must have been something behind this move. Hasn't "the brick" been on for years? Why would they suddenly decide to take Bruno off after 4 months and put on a show they could had years ago? It can't possibly be that they suddenly think JT is good, can it?

Actually Van Earl, J.T. has one of the most successful shows on Fox and is still on the air. You continue to talk about people who are off the air. Brick and Bruno hung out together in Tampa, they both has jobs and get along. Brick has not been off the air once in his entire career. You should only be so lucky.

Hey Real Deal. I think the Van Earl question was legit. Why did 570 take off Bruno's show after 4 months? Were his ratings and show that bad?

Don't think this has to do with whether guys who work at different places "get along".

Looks like the Brick remains the luckiest man in radio.

[EDIT]

And how can you support the hiring of a zero-talent hack like Vic the Brick? Go on....I challenge even a soulless brown-nosed ghoul the likes of you to make that remotely digestible...go on....I dare you...what's that?...I DIDN'T THINK SO....

[EDIT-inflammatory]

Anyone know why KLAC is exempt from playing network spots? Not only do they get their own feed of the show clean of any network identification, barring the phone number, but they get to keep all the spots for local ads.

JT is OK, I guess. He seems like a fun guy and is still better than what's on ESPN most of the time. I don't think his hyperbole and moralism is going to go over well in LA though. People here tend not to be the types who think some jock shooting roids is a matter of life and death. His basically has the wordview of a twelve year old, but he's a good broadcaster and likable. Could be worse.

The LA shows that have gone national don't seem to cater to audiences outside of LA much at all though. I don't know how that's going to work. Does anyone outside of LA actually remember Don Maclane?
