WTF is up with WAVE 102?

I'm hearing what sounds like MEXICO here on 102.1.
Now hearing Classical and country fighting each other.
Are they having transmitter problems or did the aliens land in Santa Rosa, abducted the DJs and downloaded the tunes?

E Skip is happing big time today.

Sounds like Texas/Mexico.
Anyone else get any loggings?

-Rob

What am I hearing in Mexico? 97.7, 107.9 (it's not PFM unless they changed to spanish)
Only 1 thing right... I thought the aliens landed in Santa Rosa :)

Wave is still down. Hearing something come in, Skip is done :(

-Rob

Transmitter tunning is completely shot - cant raise transmitter without it shutting off, awaiting life support from Broadcast Electronics...should be OK in the mid am Im hearing.

How can they cover Panama City when they are off the air, Rob??? ;D

Rob, when you're heading toward Panama City Beach on Hwy 98 E, just past Sandestin's main entrances to the left and to the right at the black traffic lights hanging horizontal (across) red, yellow and green, you will see a Publix and a Chan's Wines and then a
hospital thingy and maybe even a fire tower all on the left side. Behind there, especially at night with pretty red lights, you will
see two large pieces of metal called towers. The one with all the lights working is WSBZ-FM* (Seabreeze 106) and, it's been a
while since I looked honestly, but the other tower sinking into the swamp and probably about ready to fall over and maybe with
a burned out light --- is the WWAV tower. Seems like Mark Carter* told me last year tha the AC went out at the site and there
was some overheating of equipment and it probably could have caused a forest fire, but the fact is that Quantum, doesn't feel obligated to keep up their property or equipment or maybe they can't afford it. Plus all the lack of concern from the years it was owned by Tom Birch probably spells time for a little more than a bandage to the tin can they attempt to call a radio station.

CCeng will Rob pass any other cool towers on 98 from say Mary Ester to Sandestin during his 14 hour trip to Panama City Beach
to do his internship with you??? FTLOG, why?

Darn, I drive from Pensacola down to Grand Boulevard for work every month or two. I never knew what those towers were.... I guess I didn't care enough to look it up. If you want to see a really cool radio tower just go down to Front Beach road in Panama City. There's a GREAT one across from the amusement park on the gulf side with WPFM written on it in big letters... oh wait... what year is it again?

Poledo --- someone has to have a picture of that somewhere. Actually, if you go to flickr.com and type in panama city beach
you'll see some great photos of Miracle Strip and the Tower of Pizza. The WPFM call letters are sadly already painted over, though.

I did a Google image search before I made that post, I also couldn't find any pictures with the call letters.

Poledo: Here's one cool picture from flickr.com. I just typed in Panama City Beach and a bunch of great pictures
from "the day" are available. The pictures from Miracle Strip, etc., are sure innocent looking and a nice flashback
to a more user friendly era. Now, it's all about blocking views and stacking people 25 floors up with no heart and
soul. At least from Rosemary to just past Seaside is still decent.
