WTF WITH THE BUZZ

They've been playing Metallica non stop and telling us to tune in for a big announcement on Monday at 10am. I wonder if Glenn Beck will be making that announcement?

Bye Bye J-rod. At least you still have KJ.

Hmmmm...if it stays rock, The Edge, Z, X, Q, The Rocket, BUZZKILL!!!! Welcome KTOK - FM! Maybe they will switch the calls back to KEBC? FOX SPORTS 94.7? FOX NEWS RADIO 94.7? Would make sense for news since 2008 is a big political year, be a ratings hit. It was nice stunting Metallica, get all that mandatory Metallica that's been gathering dust on their music computer a spin. HA!

Sounds to me like they are starting a new campaign to compete with 100.5 The KATT. I just hope they don’t continue with the same old 20 rock artists that they always play. I swear, if I hear the Toadies’ “Opossum Kingdom” one more time, I’m going to rip my hair out.

The Buzz has so much potential, but the only way they can get ahead in this market is to branch out and play more music that’s unknown to Oklahomans.
The program director should listen to Sirius Satellite Radio’s Hard Attack, Underground Garage, Octane…etc. There are so many more great artists out there. Satellite radio’s playlist is far more advanced than what we’re allowed to hear on the Buzz previously. Good music is not just about what the record companies want us to hear. Good luck Buzz, I really hope something great is about to happen tomorrow.

was it the buzz or the buzzard? years of not connecting the dots with the listeners = failure .... hey maybe they'll upgrade their bird to the eagle okc and call it eager fm. eager to play the boring new rock that doesnt make record companies enough money to stay in business? the model has changed and its not itunes either....the problem with music is greater than 0's and 1's folks. dont count on a savior except free. (local radio and illegal downloads) especially in a recession. fools pay for their radio. its like pissing in the wind for a cause. what cause? satellite radio will eventually go t@ts up when the shareholders arent as forgiving and start to abandon any hope of profitability. xm and serious? have great pr deps not to mention market makers for their stock that keep fools investing their hard earned dollars in companies that have CONTINUED to not make a profit from day one. it has been promised for too long already. they should be traded .pk . Just keep holding on to the belief of the passive experience of the least of your senses. free is the key and it is a beautiful 4 letter word that will keep local radio alive in a day and age where someone will figure out a way to charge you a fee for the air you breathe... you are now forced to watch advertisements for your "on demand" experience (blame google). so much for the internet too as everyone of you who reads this are paying to read it. think about that and embrace the golden age of free fools. IT IS TIME TO COME HOME TO WHERE IT ALL STARTED (before tv and internet) AND BELIEVE IN LOCAL RADIO! Our government got one thing right...the purpose of radio is to serve NOT CHARGE. F corporate radio right HaHa.............

As of 10 this morning, they've re-launched as active rock to compete with KATT.

They may not win, but all they need to do is take a bigger chunk then they have from 100.5 and the other Clear Channel stations will be there for the taking. KATT is about all Citadel has left that is winning. Take them out, even a little, and Clear Channel wins the market.

But if Buzz is going to have a chance to be like KATT, they have to hire some 50 something year old jocks that sound the age of the music they play. Maybe some of their fill in jocks can drink a liter of Jack and smoke a carton of Luckys daily to get that KATT sound working.

It's a great strategy, clear channel knows the buzz won't do well, but the twister, kj 103, and ktok are doing well, and they want to keep them up there. So they will try to cut into the KATT's audience, so that the other stations can stay up in the ratings. Pretty much make one station not do so well, so the others can. Sort of like what citadel does with KISS FM...its there but its not their P1 station.

Good luck with the new buzz... its funny they are using The Buzz 1430 tulsa's logo.

Nothing changed....except they say "rock" in their liners now.

Now that the Buzz has re-launched...it's irrelevant all over again. ;D

(yawn)
More angry white guy music... Just another flavor of it. I was hoping for something different but what we got was more of the same. Back to XM channel 49 I go..

94.7 The BUZZ are weak they can never beat the KATT. I wish the BUZZ would go away.

Junk 100 The Kitty. Where they're never too old to play music that's mighty $h1++y.

;)

How many more years will it be before someone finally puts something on the air worthy of putting this failing feline out of it's misery?

Although I find the liners at Buzz funny, I wonder if they will even put a dent in 100.5. So far I don't find much else on 94.7 compelling other than the liners.
