Sorry guys,
But I graduated from college a few years ago like the rest of you, also with the assumption of making the big bucks. I had to use my head and found a job I don't really like to do, but it has
enabled me to have my own place, a car and sort of feel content with my salary. I do the radio thang on
weekends just to feel my education isn't a total waste. Taylordj is right. The syndicated shows make the big bucks. Someone told me to get the **** out of the area if I wanted to make money. I've been doing this for
over 10 yrs and still hanging around here, still looking for that big check. Join the club.....
 
Just graduating from College doesn't guarantee you anything though. You actually have to be good at what you do. :p
 
It doesn't take much talent to push buttons on a computer. Keep whining about it, and they'll replace us with
a monkey. Bananas are cheaper than a 401K....
 
Trust me. This from a disgruntled, former employee of HVBC. There are two, MAYBE three people who make over or close to six-figures. Everyone else...they're barely breaking five! And that includes Steve and Taylor. I about bust a gut laughing at that rumour. Holston Valley Broadcasting paying anyone that kind of money who isn't in an upper-management position...well, it's just plain stupid.

Geez, JockJock, what gave me away? Tightwad Squarepants or Peace. I don't know what it could be. I may be down, but I sure as heck ain't out! I will be back...maybe 20 years from now, but I will be back. (just not to Kingsport!)

Not too much. Just trying to make a living for the first time outside of radio, but still doing the part-time weekend thing at Citadel on QUT. Having a real job kind of sucks! And I didn't think it was possible to make less than what I did at Holston Valley, but guess what, I am! Retail sucks!
BTW, who are you, GCC?
