WTHE 1520 AM Mineola

The FCC has given the green light for Radio Cantico to purchase this silent station. Ironically, the sale had been challenged by WIN broadcasting, the owner of WNYH 740 AM, which is leased by Radio Cantico.
As WTHE no longer has a tower, I wonder whether once Radio Cantico purchases it, if they will actually build or lease one for the station, or simply seek to resell it.
Radio Cantico has been acquiring quite a chunk of the small stations on Long Island.

I think they will build a new antenna for 1520. If I'm not mistaken one of 1580's antennas was still collapsed when Radio Cantico purchased the station from PolNet and the antenna has been replaced.

According to WTHE's FCC filings, the owner of WNYH (Win Radio) blocked WTHE from trying to renew the lease to their original transmitter site, and then snitched on them for using a longwire antenna in the backyard of the station engineer's home (in violation of local zoning ordinances) in order to get back on the air and preserve the station's license, forcing them to go dark again.

Here's their latest FCC filing (sorry for the all-caps):

AS NOTED IN THE INITIAL REQUEST FOR SILENT AUTHORITY, STATION WTHE WAS OPERATING FROM AN ALTERNATE SITE LOCATION WITH A LONG WIRE ANTENNA PURSUANT TO SPECIAL TEMPORARY AUTHORITY (STA) GRANTED FEBRUARY 1, 2019 (BSTA-20190115AAR. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, BECAUSE OF ZONING/LAND USE COMPLAINT, BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY A COMPETING STATION, MUNICIPAL AUTHORITIES ORDERED THE STATION OFF THE AIR AND THE LOCAL POWER COMPANY DISCONNECTED POWER TO THE OPERATION. THE PRESENT SILENT AUTHORITY EXPIRES SEPTEMBER 25, 2019.

IN THE MEANTIME, THE LICENSEE HAS FILED AN APPLICATION FOR ASSIGNMENT OF LICENSE (BAL-20190207AAE). ACTION ON THAT APPLICATION HAS BEEN DELAYED BY A PETITION TO DENY FILED BY A COMPETING STATION.

ADDITIONALLY, THE STATION HAS SECURED AN AGREEMENT TO OPERATE FROM A DIFFERENT SITE, AND A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT (BP-20190515AAK) FOR THAT SITE HAS BEEN GRANTED. HOWEVER, THE UNCERTAINTY CAUSED BY THE DELAY IN ACTION ON THE ASSIGNMENT APPLICATION HAS MADE FINANCING ARRANGEMENTS FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PERMIT DIFFICULT.

IT IS REQUESTED THAT THE SILENT AUTHORITY BE EXTENDED.

When was it

This station returned to the air, a few days ago. As expected, it is rebroadcasting Radio Cantico, after they left WNYH.
I don't understand how Radio Cantico can afford to keep buying stations, since they filed for bankruptcy, and owe WNYH at least $500,000.

The obvious question would be... WHY would someone allow an outstanding balance to accrue to half a million dollars before pulling the plug? Sure Dr. Yoon doesn't need the money but allowing the debt to increase to this level is insane IMO.
