Does anyone know what tyape of transmitter and audio processing is employed at WTHE Mineola? This is a really kickin' signal for a kw on 1520. Good ignal into Jersey till you get down into WJDM territory. Who is the CE??

It used to be Jim Pierce, now at WNYG.

I would think this might get better response on the Nassau-Suffolk/Long Island board (or on the other post on the Engineering board). I have fond memories of powering down WTHE's transmitter, then getting blasted over the monitors by some sports talk station from Canada.

What are you talking about? There are no Canadian stations on 1520. It's a U.S. Clear. At night, it was either WKBW or KOMA (now KOKC). Even now they are the two dominant, except for a couple of flee bites with critical 6-tower array's in the NE.

WWKB used to be the station that plays oldies which was "KB Radio" at the time from 2003 until 2006. I remember being in Brooklyn, listening to KB 1520 at night to hear some oldies at night during the half of 2005 until 2006 where WWKB flipped to progressive talk as Buffalo's "Left Channel". that was a bad sign for the station where WWKB gave up oldies. Jack Armstrong was great at night when I listened to it, and so does Tom Donahue. I missed KB.

That night signal understates things too. I clearly remember listening to Jackson Armstrong on WKBW in 1971, in Key Largo, Fl, 30 miles south of Miami!!!
