WTIB moving to 103.7 on March 15th

"Inner Banks Media" is moving WTIB-FM, currently at 94.3, to 103.7 about March 15th, i'm surprised this has not happened
before now, since "Thunder Country" can't compete with WRNS, with this move, will we see a tweak in their current lineup?,
i won't be surprised to see Glenn Beck added, but will they grab Rush Limbaugh?, i'm sure Premiere Radio Networks would
like to move his show to FM in this market, if that happens, it will become the third station this year to take his show to
this side of radio, Talk Radio on FM is growing, and with 100,000 watts to work with, this format could challenge some of
the music stations, depending to the programming they can acquire.

I think the reason FM is picking up more talk stations is simple it's a "cheap" format to execute and no music royalty fees to pay. It's cheap because most of the talk formats are satellite fed so there is no staff to have to pay and automation can take care of any local breaks. Also people just love to "gossip" and talk and talk and well you get he idea. What has killed the music formats is the lack of music variety and the sheer greed of the record labels with all the proposed royalty fees many stations just can't afford it anymore for the ROI you get from a dwindling audience. Just my .02 worth.

Double J is right, and at the rate things are going in the radio industry, more and more FM stations may have to switch from
music to talk or sports, how sad it's become that "record" or should be said "Music" labels want more and more royalities
that threatens the viability of many radio stations to exist, with ad revenues down, this can't be permitted to happen.

Radio better get back to really listening to its audience and get back to basics..No matter what goes on when you get back to basics things usually improve..

Allen

This is true Allen. The record industry doesn't realize that if it wasn't FOR radio they wouldn't even BE in existence. The radio industry made the record industry. They both go hand in hand. Why not join forces somehow. OOPs I keep forgetting the recording industry wants MORE money because they think they deserve it all along with the oil companies, the insurance companies, the pharmaceutical companies, the auto manufacturers and of course Wal-Mart.

I started this topic a few weeks ago, and some may not read this until late Sunday night, or early Monday morning, but has there been any word on changes in WTIB's programming as of March 15th?, speculation is that Glenn Beck was coming, maybe
Rush Limbaugh, depending on when his contract was up on "Pirate Radio 930", or others?, i suspect Henry Hinton will have a
new web page reflecting the information.
