WTIC 1080 to do XMTR repairs

Taken from their website...

WTIC NewsTalk 1080 must perform required work to our transmitter. As a result we will be off the air during these times over the weekend: 8/27 11:06pm – 5am 8/28; 8/28 11:06pm – 5am 8/29; and possibly 8/29 11:06pm – 5am 8/30. Thank you for your patience.

This will be a great for those DXers on this board the opportunity to log KRLD in Dallas on 1080 which is usually quite audible up here in CT w/WTIC off.

Well over 10 years ago, WTIC 1080 was off for scheduled maintenance and the only station I could identify was a Spanish language station out of Coral Gables, FL running 10000 watts.

I heard KRLD quite clearly that time, with the Spanish station weak and fluttery in the background. Didn't catch this latest maintenance period, as I didn't check this board the last four days.

The last several nights...some "Oldies" station has been jamming 1080.
I've noticed this during Coast to Coast.....Any ideas what this is???
