WTIC Vs. WKSS In Springfield

I find it interesting how WTIC bombs in Springfield's market but KISS pulls solid 3-5's.........And Kiss has the weaker signal...........reasons? thoughts? And yet WTIC is back on top..........finally
 
Maybe because WHYN-FM ("Mix 93.1") is nearly the same thing as WTIC-FM?

Hartford stations do NOT target Springfield. Hint: The studio/contest phone is a Hartford number, not a toll-free number.
