Pete Wolff is a local Evergreen, AL businessman who owns a well established used car dealership and a heavy equipment (bulldozers, etc) store. It'll be interesting to see how they handle advertising sales for the other car lots in the area. I'm sure he won't turn their money down, as they won't have much of a choice.

Didn't this same station sell for like $1 million or so several years ago?

A quick Google search found the following 2003 blurb from BIA Financial via Allbusiness.com:

------------
WFNU-FM Repton, Ala.

PRICE: $1.5 million

BUYER: Great South RFDC LLC (Paul S. Alexander, managing member); owns four other stations, none in this market

SELLER: Brantley Broadcast Associates (Paul Reynolds, president)

FACILITIES: 101.1 MHz, 3 kW, ant. 459 ft.

FORMAT: Oldies
-----------

WTID has pretty much taken the place of the original "Power Pig" at 93.3, a 100KW class C licensed to Evergreen that moved to Ft. Walton Beach, FL. When 101.1 signed on as WFNU, it's signal was catered mostly to Monroe County (via Monroeville studios) with a bland AC gold format. WMFC 1360 & WMFC-FM 99.3 pretty much had local advertising sewn up, and 101.1 went dark a few times before being purchased and moved.
