WKMG-TV "Local 6" and WTIR-AM 1300 "The Travelers Information Radio Network" will team up on Wednesday for coverage of The Space Shuttle launch.

Anywhere in Brevard County and along the Space Coast, tune your radios to 1300 AM as WTIR will be simulcasting WKMG-TV News.

The simulcast schedule is as follows:

12:00pm to 12:30pm
3:00pm to 6:30pm

Along with those times, WTIR-AM will also carry any updated WKMG does through out the day concerning the shutte launch.

WTIR-AM 1300 has also gained permission from News Director Skip Valet to simulcast WKMG Local 6 during Major Breaking News or Severe Weather

If you have any questions, comments or would like to make an inquiry please direcy all email to WTIR-AM 13000 Station Manager Paul Walker, Jr via email: [email protected]

No offense intended to any employees they may have lurking about, but if you put a GUN to my bits and pieces, I would not listen to WTIR. I don't care about Disney coupons, and if I want CNN Headline News, I'll watch it.

BTW, 87.7 on FM is WKMG 24/7

Last I checked part of the purpose of boards such as this is to post what is happening in local media. Some of it may be exciting and some of it may be hum drum but if it's happening in the market it probably is worthy of mention.

I am glad you posted, The inactivity on this board is the worse thing about it.

WTIR was on 1680AM back when the TIRN service launched. Current ownership Rama Communications also owned the station then, and flipped it to the Spanish programming heard now. Transferred calls to WTIR 1300AM, which is a Cocoa Beach signal.

Inactivity

You're right, Inactivity kills - but just as long as people don't come back and lament the loss of a dance music outlet and lobby for someone to bring it back
