WTIX: STILL A HORRIBLE STATION

The Bay City Rollers??? C'mon, there's a case of arrested development running that pitiful station.

Also the station in general, and the morning abortion in particular, are BOOOOOORING! Take away "What's happenin' " and midday soul Hot Rod wouldn't have anything to say.

And as far as the registered sex offender...that's another story just waiting to be told.

hes probably referring to the supposed gay actions of the owner? i like tix fm. only good station in new orleans. and i like the bay city rollers...and the osmonds and donny and marie ;D

The registered sex offender thing was referring to a recent news story heard on the radio.

I *loved* WTIX-FM. Always considered it a treat when I lived in Ocean Springs and conditions were good enough to hear it above the splatter from our local on 94.5.

Two reasons for my affection: 1) They didn't sound like every other "Good Times and Great Oldies" station on the dial.

2) They were locally owned and operated.

For a rimshot from Galliano, I think they did pretty well. As for the Bay City Rollers, don't forget they were a huge act for those 2 years between late 1975 and late 1977. "Saturday Night", "Money Honey", "I Only Wanna be with You", and "The Way I Feel Tonight" were bonafide hits.

Yeah, Michael Costello is alot of things to a lot of people but he is married and is not a sex offender...

Check this out:

Circa 1985 on stage at McAllister's Quarter in Fat City before the Zebra appearance at the Superbowl of Rock and Roll...(from left) me in the WRNO days, Eric "Doc" Miller (McAllister's DJ), Zebra's Felix Hanneman and WRNO's Michael Costello.

Back in the skinnier days, 20 years ago?

If not Costello, then who? Ain't but a few people working there.

It works for me. Just click and it should work.

If not, copy and paste into a new inwdow, then hit enter...

Paul,
I think I may be having conectivity issues.
Thanks for the help, I'll try later.

Yup...best time in radio back then...the "good" ol' daze of 'RNO....and the Wednesday night get nekked contests at McAllister's! Also on that Yahoo link you can check out a lotta Coast Katrina damage shots from my hood in Gulfport...plus some shots of my old hood in N'Awlins East...and thanks RFLA! :D
